The Solution for Efficient Emptying

Declining mail volumes, fluctuating package volumes, and consistent delivery routes: When deliveries are made according to schedule, your delivery personnel stop at both full and empty mailboxes. The SLOC Fill State is retrofitted into existing mailboxes and uses cellular technology to report whether there is anything in the mailbox. The next day’s route includes only those locations where there is actually something to pick up.

Lid Openings and Tamper Detection

Every time a lid is opened, it is logged with a timestamp. You can see when a box was opened and whether anything is still inside afterward—without having to ask the driver and without manual documentation. Openings outside of normal hours are also visible. Vibrations, impacts, and changes in location trigger an alarm, so you don’t have to rely on your customers to tell you about a break-in.

Knowing how heavily a location is used

Over the course of weeks and months, you can see for each bin how often it was filled and how often it wasn’t. This allows you to make informed decisions about which locations to keep, which to relocate, which need a different emptying frequency, and which can be eliminated—on a permanent basis rather than just during a random sample week.

Try our solution for yourself

Do you know how many of your empty container pickups are going to waste today? We’ll equip a selection of your crates and analyze the data together with you—so you can make decisions based on your own numbers.

Problems with Emptying Mailboxes and Package Lockers

  • Fixed collection routes regardless of fill level
  • Declining mail volume with unchanged route effort
  • Overflowing package lockers with fluctuating volume
  • No way to verify whether a locker has actually been emptied
  • Break-ins, vandalism, and theft from collection lockers
  • Site selection decisions without reliable utilization data
  • High costs and CO2 emissions due to unnecessary trips

SLOC SOLUTION

The Smart Solution for Emptying Mailboxes and Package Lockers

SLOC Fill State

The SLOC Fill State measures the fill level in small and medium-sized containers and detects when items are placed inside and when lids are opened. It also provides temperature, location, and shock detection data. It can be installed as new equipment or retrofitted, operates via NB-IoT and LTE-M, and has a battery life of up to 10 years.

SLOC Device Management

The portal displays the fill level, feed rates, and temperature for each location over time, reports alarms, and shows which locations are currently being filled.

Schnittstellen in Drittsysteme

You can integrate the data into your route planning or logistics system via REST or PUSH interfaces.

Retrofit Instead of Replace

The SLOC Fill State requires neither a power connection nor a gateway. It is mounted in existing enclosures and is designed for use in public spaces: IP67 protection rating, IK11 impact resistance, operation from −30 to +70 °C, and cellular connectivity via global NB-IoT and LTE-M frequency bands. The sensor is suitable for containers with an internal depth of 20 to 110 cm.
